What We Are Doing To Make The Classes Safe

Class Sizes Limited:

Classes will be limited to 19 people per class for Zumba and Dance Funk Fitness, 15 for Ballet and 5 for Yoga. This limit is based on government guidelines for indoor exercise that participants of indoor exercise have 100sqft of space per person to ensure adequate airflow.

No dropping in – BOOKING ESSENTIAL:

You must book in advance in order to attend a class from now on. No more turning up without booking. This is due to the limit in class sizes and to support the NHS Test and Trace programme. If you do not know how to book I can guide you over the phone before. If you would like to bring a friend, THEY MUST BOOK IN.

One Way Flow Entering & Exiting:

The community centre has set up a one-way flow of traffic for entering and exiting the building. The entrance will be the normal entrance on Monson Road and the exit will be on New Cross Road.

Please Do Not Hang Around:

I love chatting with you all as much as you do, and I know you may be missing the people you go to class with, but unfortunately at this time we are required to ensure that everyone stays safe and reduces the risk of spreading the virus by making sure we spend as little time with people outside of our household as possible, especially indoors. This means that once the class has finished you will need to vacate the room as soon as possible. (what you do when you leave the building is up to you though 😉 )

No Singing Or Shouting During The Class:

With a heavy heart I have to tell you we will no longer be able to “woooo!!” 🙁 or sing along to our favourite choons! But you can do a mini “wooo!” in your mind instead!

Wearing Of Masks:

The community centre has encouraged all of us to wear masks as much as we can when we are using the building so please do wear a mask to and from the class when you are inside. However please do not wear your mask during the class as it could prevent you from breathing adequately which could be dangerous whilst exercising.

Washing Of Hands:

Please do wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds as you enter the building and when you are leaving. There will also be hand sanitiser available.

Don’t Arrive Too Early:

Please avoid arriving more than 15 mins early for the class as we want to avoid congestion in the common reception area at the community centre.

Ballet Classes – Wipe The Chairs Before & After:

There will be cleaning spray and disposable towels for you to wipe your chair before and after you touch it.

If you or someone you live with have symptoms:

Do not leave home or come to class if you or someone you live with has any of the following:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Signing in when you arrive:

Give me your name when you arrive and I will sign you in.

NHS Test & Trace Barcode

Please ensure you scan the NHS Test & Trace barcode every time you enter the building.  

Adhere To Social Distancing

There are floor markings to help you make sure you stay 2m+ away from other people at all times.
